Hi, I’m Lesa Taylor, certified Kitchen and Bath Designer and owner of Taylored Kitchens and Baths based in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.

I design durable, beautiful, pet-friendly kitchens, baths, pantries, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and doggy zones for Front Range residents and their beloved furry friends.

If you value lasting quality and have a soft spot for rescue animals, we’re going to be great friends!

Kitchens and baths are highly technical spaces and need specialized expertise. My organized process ensures a professionally delivered experience from thoughtful and precise buildable design plans to quality cabinetry, functional storage solutions, and enduring finishes, resulting in one-of-a-kind, low-stress spaces you are sure to love for decades. Simply put, investing in a design with me means being free from worry about the care and upkeep of cheap or trendy cabinets.

How did I come to be a designer?

Like you, I once needed a kitchen remodel. Sadly, after interviewing multiple companies, I discovered that lots of “kitchen and bath” businesses are really just installers with no design expertise, no background in solving technical floor plan challenges, and no 3D rendering capability, not to mention zero ability to think outside the box

I needed a kitchen and bath designer who met my standards

Frustrated by this gap in the industry, I gave in to my long-time passion for design.

I immersed myself in thousands of hours of education from the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), trained in 3D-CAD software, and passed the rigorous CKBD (Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer) exam. I was determined to provide clients with the professional design experience I had once looked for. I’m proud that my designs have been featured on HGTV’s 100-Day Dream Home, but I'm even prouder of the fact that my clients still love their remodeled kitchens and baths years later.

If a home isn’t well-lit, it isn’t well-designed.

Eager for more knowledge after getting my CKBD certification, I enrolled in one of the best lighting programs in the world through the University of Colorado, right here in Boulder. That means that in addition to being a certified kitchen and bath designer, I am also an interior residential lighting specialist and include lighting plans in all my kitchen and bath designs.

If a kitchen is going to last decades, it needs to age well, too.

I am also a Certified Living in Place Professional (CLIPP). That means I apply Living in Place Principles to my designs so you can live independently for as long as possible. Contrary to popular belief, a live-in-place home is not ugly and doesn't look any different than any other home. It simply incorporates smart design principles that make your life easier now and into the future, no matter your age.

Why not love your home for how it looks and how well it takes care of you?

I’m here for you.

Best of all, I’m known for my unparalleled communication, attention to detail, exceptional organization, and creativity. The bottom line: I treat every project like it’s a design for my own home. I love what I do and can’t wait to work with you!

Why does 10% of every design fee go to support pet rescue charities?

My favorite clients are like me - animals mean everything to them.

My husband and I don’t have human kids, but our rescue dog Caly goes almost everywhere with us - we’re truly a threesome. We choose restaurants based on whether they’re dog-friendly, and opt out of events that are not. Caly comes shopping with us, and tags along to friends' houses for dinner. When we first moved to Boulder our house-search guidelines focused almost entirely on the needs and delights of Caly and our 2 rescue cats. Obsessed? Maybe. But if you love animals like we do, I’ll bet you can relate.

I can’t rescue every fur-baby out there, but I can make an impact by using my company resources to help more of these wonderful animals find their fur-ever homes and fur-ever families. That’s why 10% of every design fee goes directly to the pet rescue of your choice. Together, we can make your home pet-friendly and help creatures who can’t help themselves. If you don’t have a charity of choice, there are many to choose from, some of which are listed below. And, if you’re from outside Boulder, CO, I’ll happily donate to your local animal charity of choice.
